A Good Night in Camden 7-18-26

Good Vibes Open Mic, Camden, New Jersey 

Guest-hosting the Good Vibes Open Mic gave me a chance to stretch beyond my own performance and help guide an entire evening.

 

There is a special responsibility in holding a microphone as a host. You are helping shape the pace of the room, welcoming each artist, keeping the audience engaged, and making space for people who may be stepping onto the stage with nervous hearts.

 

I was grateful that the night went well. The room brought together artists from Philadelphia, Delaware, and New Jersey, creating an opportunity for music, networking, and new connections across the local scene. Every performer arrived with something different to share.

 

The experience reminded me that I can trust myself in leadership. I do not have to shrink my presence to make room for others. I can stand fully in who I am while still encouraging everyone around me to shine.

 

Thank you to Dre Velour, Tanisha, the artists, and everyone who came out to support the night. I walked away grateful for the lessons, the laughter, and the reminder that a good vibe is something we create together.

 

Reflection: Leadership can be warm. You can take up space and still make room for others.
