Creating Connection at The Link Up 5-14-26

The Link Up, Philadelphia

Hosting The Link Up came from a desire to create a space where musicians, poets, performers, and artists could meet one another beyond the quick exchange of social media.

Creative work can sometimes feel solitary. We spend so much time writing, rehearsing, planning, and trying to move our dreams forward. The Link Up was a reminder that we do not have to build every part of the journey alone.

I was grateful for every artist who brought their voice into the room and every person willing to introduce themselves, listen, and connect. Hosting the event allowed me to see another part of my purpose. I love performing, but I also care about creating spaces where meaningful relationships can begin.

The night reminded me that connection cannot be forced, but it can be invited. Sometimes all we need is a welcoming room, a shared love of art, and enough courage to say hello.

Reflection: The right connections often begin with a simple invitation to be seen, heard, and welcomed.
