Honoring the Power of Words

Herbs & Words, Execute That Studio, Philadelphia

Performing at Herbs & Words during World Poetry Month felt beautifully aligned with the way I create. Even when I am singing, words are at the center of what I do. I love lyrics that feel honest, poetry that makes people pause, and stories that allow us to recognize pieces of ourselves in one another.

The night brought music, poetry, comedy, and expression together in one intimate space. I was grateful to be part of a room where different voices could be heard without needing to compete with each other. Each artist added a different color to the evening.

Experiences like this remind me that art does not have to be enormous to be meaningful. Sometimes the most memorable moments happen in close rooms, where you can see the faces in front of you and feel when a line lands in someone’s heart.

I left with a renewed appreciation for language and for every artist brave enough to tell the truth in their own way.

Reflection: Our words carry energy. When they are offered honestly, they can find the exact heart that needs them.
